I enjoy being involved in many clubs as I enjoy being a well-rounded person. Several clubs I've joined for the past three years at Lindsay High School are French Club, Art Club, Key Club, and ASL Club. Previously, I was inaugurated to the French Honors Society. I cannot wait to join more clubs. I am also considering trying for tennis. I believe it will keep me distracted from trivial problems at home or at school.
A couple of activities I enjoy doing are creating new works of art, reading Buzzfeed articles and John Green novels, watching horror and comedy movies, walking my toy poodle around the neighborhood, helping my parents clean around the house, going out with friends on Friday nights, and last but not least traveling with my family to see and explore new places. Moreover, I am excited because I made it into the tennis team. I believe tennis will help strengthen my upper body coordination and keep myself active during the rest of the summer.

Key Club
I was interested in Key Club the minute I heard of it in the morning bulletin. So I decided to join Key Club my junior year, the club's motive is to provide community service. Ever since I was in middle school I wanted to help my community. My older brother motivated me to help my community whenever possible. It was until I entered high school that I knew I was going to join Key Club, not only because I earn my community service hours, but rather because I am simply a charitable individual.

Art Club
I have a profound passion for art and the art realm. Ever since I learned to grasp a pencil, I was fond of creating artworks. I prefer to draw animated figures and occasionally actual life portraits. I joined Art Club my junior year because since Art Club was not available my first two years of high school . I was ecstatic to realize there would finally be a club for my favorite hobby and eminent skill. Toward the end of the year, I went on a field trip to visit some of the most amazing and interesting art museums in Los Angeles, CA. We first visited the Paul Getty art museum, which was a very exciting since there was a myriad of artwork from the Renaissance to contemporary art.
I agree with Tim Burton that, "Drawing is exercise for a restless imagination." Since I have many ideas I prefer to project them into a sheet of paper, so that everyone can enjoy them as much as I do. |
French Club
French Honors Society |
I've taken French as my foreign language for the past three years in high school. French was a very interesting class and I absolutely adored learning about the language and the culture. I joined the French Club junior year because I wanted to create new experiences with new and old friends. An unforgettable experience was the end of the school year party. My advisor brought plenty of scrumptious cuisines. I also sold more than 3o bars of chocolate.
I was inaugurated to the National French Honor Society during my junior year. I am honored to be a part of this society because I am now at the highest level a student can be. I am following in my eldest brother's footsteps as well as imprinting my own for my successors. I yearn to graduate with French Honors in order to fulfill my wish of becoming successful by speaking not just one language, but three.

Creativity & Imagination
I have a vast imagination that fills up every room of creativity on the right side of my brain. I absolutely cherish art in its finest form and appreciate every artwork for what it represents. On the left is one of the artworks I created for my digital art class. I was imagining what if spiders infested New York and fought against Godzilla for the "king of all monsters" throne. I've been envisioning new movie ideas which I conjure when I'm feeling very inspired. I hope one day I have the opportunity to display those ideas.

ASL (American Sign Language) Club
I decided I wanted to learn a new language that will help me communicate my thoughts and feelings in a different way. That is what influenced me to join the American Sign Language Club. A good friend of mine also motivated me to join the club since he was trying to get more people to join and support the club. I've learned a couple signs and even received my own sign name while in this club.

Drama Club
Drama club seemed very interesting when I entered Lindsay High School. So, I decided to join the club but unfortunately I was soon to be disappointed as the club was not quite what I had imagined. Nevertheless, I did participated in some of the club's activities such as the talent show. I also met and made new friends. Even though I was disappointed I am still glad I made new friends and had the opportunity to be part of such a prominent club as a freshman.

REAP (Rural Education for Americans Project) Foundation
Joining the REAP Foundation has been one of the greatest decisions of my high school career. Since it gives me the opportunity to earn scholarship money for every level 4 or 3.5 I receive by the end of the year. I have earned plenty of money in the past three years of high school. The club's advisor, Mrs. Torres, is a very amazing and intelligent woman I can't thank her enough for giving me advice on how to earn scholarship money and which steps to take in order to go to college. REAP Foundation has motivated me to strive higher and not let go of my dreams. The club is composed of inspired individuals whose goals are the same as mine and together we strive for higher grades and work ethic enhancement.

Tennis
I finally made into the tennis team. I've been yearning for this since the beginning of my summer vacation. I have accomplished one of the first goals of my senior year. Tennis was a fun learning experience. I learned things such as zero equals love and how to play doubles. However, I decided to quit the team after I realized I wasn't quite comfortable during practices. There were some personal issues involved. Moreover, I didn't have plenty of time on my hands to finish homework for each and every course, especially the college prep classes such as Psychology and AP biology; I also had to clean my house and take care of my pets. However, I learned how to manage my time between the sport, homework, and chores. I had plenty of fun and experienced a new sport even if I had conflicts.
